Artist's Comments
Over the last year I've been pursuing a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (as most Universities require it!) and these are a few samples from my Final Major Project (April-July).
I chose to do a medical-illustration project on hearts because I wanted to try something different. All of my previous projects had been abstract ideas, things that could not be drawn from observation. This project evolved into observational paintings of hearts, in an art-styled medical book prototype. I've included my favourite paintings from it.  The photo at the top is a photo of part of my exhibition - design sheets along the wall because the book didn't arrive in time, 3 oil paintings of hearts, and 4 sketchbooks filled with prelim work.  My portfolio and previous projects were on the opposite side of the room. Anyway, it's high-res so I'd advise anyone with a 56k to be a bit cautious!  ...And enjoy.  |
